No llovía ni una gota para refrescar un poco la tierra. Ni trigo, ni pasto ni flores había en el campo.
Los animales, cada vez más preocupados, se buscaron unos a otros, se reunieron, al fin. Algo había que hacer, pero qué? Fue la lechuza la que dijo que los humanos tenían una canción para hacer llover, y que la canción hablaba de una vieja, y que ella conocía a la vieja. Y algo más dijo: que la vieja vivía en una cueva.
